Dr Wee-Sian Woon
Dr Wee-Sian Woon is a GP and Sexual health doctor. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and holds a Diploma of Child Health from The University of Sydney.
Dr Woon grew up in Canberra and attended medical school in Queensland where he graduated in 2012. He undertook his hospital training in Canberra Hospital with short-stints in rural NSW including Goulburn Base Hospital and Cooma.
He has interests in all areas of medicine, particularly in Sexual health, HIV medicine, Hepatitis B management and PrEP prescribing. Additionally he does Gender-affirming therapy including initiation of hormone therapy.
He was awarded a scholarship from the Australian Society of HIV Medicine (ASHM) in 2014 to undertake a HIV prescribing course in Sydney. He has since been involved in HIV prescribing and management and is also a hepatitis B prescriber. He worked full-time as a Sexual health doctor at the RPA Sexual health Clinic in 2018.
Now settled in Sydney, he has previously worked as a GP in Canberra, Perth and Aboriginal Medical Services’ in Alice Springs and Taree.
Outside of medical practice, he enjoys marathon running, trail-running, playing the piano, travelling and ocean-swimming. He is always happy to hear about amazing running locations around the world. He is also involved in representative positions for the World Organisation of Family Doctors and is an examiner for the RACGP.
Dr Woon also regularly attends education events and international conferences to keep up to date with the latest developments and advancements in medicine.
Dr Woon’s usual days at the clinic are Monday and Thursday.
