Dr. Brian Flynn – General Practitioner

 

Dr. Brian Flynn is a UK-trained physician with over 23 years of clinical experience. He earned his medical degree from the University of Leicester, England, in 2001. Before transitioning to General Practice, Dr. Flynn spent 13 years gaining comprehensive experience across a range of hospital-based medical specialties.

 

In 2006, Dr. Flynn was awarded a Clinical Fellowship in Infectious Diseases, which sparked his passion for Sexual Health. This led him to Scotland, where he undertook training in Sexual Health to Consultant level over the course of five years. During this time, he had the opportunity to work at Sydney Sexual Health Centre, where he developed a deep appreciation for Australian healthcare and lifestyle.

 

Driven by his interest in providing holistic patient care, Dr. Flynn expanded his expertise by also pursuing General Practice training. He gained particular experience in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and mental health, completing his membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners of London in 2016. His experience in both General Practice and Sexual Health has equipped him with a unique skill set, enabling him to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.

 

In 2019, Dr. Flynn fulfilled his long-held dream of returning to Australia, settling in Sydney to serve the local community, including the patients of Taylor Square Private Clinic.

 

Dr. Flynn takes pride in building long-term relationships with his patients, offering tailored management plans that support their overall health and well-being. His approach reflects his belief in treating patients as individuals and ensuring their health needs are met with empathy and care.

Personal Interests:

When not in the clinic, Dr. Flynn enjoys the gym and playing squash. In fact he won a silver medal in the Hong Kong Gay Games 2023 for squash! A keen traveller, he looks forward to exploring more of Australia. While he considers himself a “foodie,” he admits to being a work-in-progress when it comes to cooking—but he’s determined to improve!
